The Pogány-havas Association along with Vinca Minor Association has organized a series of events in Bixad regarding old, remarkable trees. The goal of these activities has been to  raise awareness of local communities about the values of such old trees and in the same time to connect sentimentally  the people with old trees of the village. This emotional attachment will certainly slow and prevent disappearance of such old trees. These activities are part of “Remarkable trees of Romania” project. The location is part of Ciomad-Balvanyos Natura 2000 area, a beautiful wood pasture with beech trees.
