| Acesta este de fapt un tei hibrid (T. platyphyllos x T. tomentosa), fiind cel mai batran din aceasta specie din tara. Din informatiile disponibile are vârsta de 660 de ani, varsta care are la baza calculului „lăţimea medie a inelului anual de creştere în grosime”, de 1,5 mm/an, lăţime extrasă din 3 lucrări, dintre care una (Tabele dendrometrice, 1.320 pagini, 1957) se bazează pe secţionarea şi măsurarea unui număr de 1.650 de tei din România, în anul 1950. Cu toate acestea, la arborii foarte batrani, noduroși, cu crengi care pornesc atat de jos si care pot deforma in timp tulpina scurta, astfel de extrapolari nu se preteaza corespunzator.
