| Arbore descoperit de Szabó Zoltán. Pana la ora actuala este cel mai gros plop in viață din Romania si al doilea arbore dupa grosime din țară. Circumferinta a fost măsurata la circa 70 cm de sol unde era cel mai subtire trunchiul. La 1.30 m are peste 12 m circumferinta. Conform datelor exitente pe siteurile internaționale este posibil să fie și record European sau internațional. Protejarea arborelui este deci o necesitate. Unicitatea lui și contextul peisagistic (cu maimulți plopi groși, bătrâni, pășune pășunată cu vaci pe o fostă zonă inundabilă a Someșului) face ca aria respectivă să aibă valori socio-culturale și naturale unicate. Comunitatea locală dar și utilizatorul pășunii poate beneficia după acest element de peisaj, prin turism educațional și branduirea produselor. | |
