| “Un exemplar rar de Sequoia crește în Parcul Național Semenic – Cheile Carașului, adaptându-se perfect la condițiile climatice din țara noastră, la o altitudine de aproape 700 de metri. Exemplarul are 45 de metri înalțime, o circumferință de 5,7 metri, specialiștii Regiei Naționale a Pădurilor – Romsilva estimând vârsta la aproximativ 200 de ani. Nimeni nu știe istoria acestui copac gigantic, specia fiind una de origine nord-americană. În România există foarte puține exemplare de Sequila, însă cel din Parcul Semenic – Cheile Carașului este unul din puținele care s-au dezvoltat în mediul natural, într-o pădure”, transmit reprezentanții Romsilva.
