At Sovata we found a wood pasture with really old beeches but many of these were cut recently. The shepherd present in this particular pasture who is staying in the mountains until April, explained the situation for us. The eligibility criteria for subsidies for pastures are excluding those areas of the pastures shaded by these ancient trees. In this situation we are cutting and we are thinning the trees.  Savvy legislators made good law!

On the surfaces with trees the subsidies are not allowed– No comment!
